The Citadel of Divine Power on Neel Parvat
Crowning the summit of Neel Parvat on the eastern bank of the Ganga stands the ancient Chandi Devi Temple, one of the three revered Siddhpeeths of Haridwar (alongside Mansa Devi and Maya Devi). According to scripture, it was here that Goddess Chandi rested after slaying the demon kings Chanda and Munda. The main deity idol was originally installed in the 8th century CE by Adi Shankaracharya.
Cable Car Ascent & Station Facilities
The ropeway to Chandi Devi spans a dramatic aerial distance of 740 meters, climbing over dense forests of Rajaji Tiger Reserve. The lower station features spacious car parking, food courts, and clean washrooms. During the 8-minute aerial glide, pilgrims enjoy panoramic views of the Ganga meandering through multiple channels.
Adjacent Sacred Shrines
A short walk from the main Chandi Devi sanctum leads to the Anjana Devi Temple (dedicated to Lord Hanuman's mother) and the sacred Neeleshwar Mahadev shrine. Visiting both completes the spiritual merit of the Neel Parvat yatra.
